At fourteen years old, Janida is not your ordinary eighth grader. She’s an accomplished wrestler and the 2019 California Girls Middle School State Champion. She was also the 2nd place finisher at the 2019 California USA Cadet Folkstyle State Championships in Fresno, California where she competed against high school Freshman and Sophomore wrestlers.
Janida is no stranger to physical sports. She became involved in Jui-Jitsu at age seven and competed until she was ten years old. At twelve years old she began wrestling and has been a Tracy Wrestling Club wrestler ever since. Janida is committed to self improvement and strives to be the best she can be on and off of the mat. Over the past two years she has earned several first, second, and third place titles while competing against both male and female wrestlers. Janida has competed all over the State of California, in the State of Washington, and the State of Nevada.
Janida does not only focus on sports. Despite spending four days a week at the wrestling club and competing in tournaments on the weekends, she is also a committed student. Janida maintains a 4.0 Grade Point Average and hopes to go to United States West Point after completing high school. Although she is not completely sure about what she wants for a career, we know that Janida will set high goals for herself and accomplish whatever she puts her mind to.
Congratulations Janida on earning your first state title and maintaining superior grades!
