Tracy Wrestling Club claims 11 Championship titles in a single day

TWC Gold, Silver, and Bronze Placers

The Tracy Wrestling Club claimed 10 Championship titles, 5 Silver medals, and 5 Bronze medals at the SJWA Championships and a Championship title and a Silver medal at the Motherlode Mania this past Sunday.

Twenty-nine TWC wrestlers from U6 through U14 age brackets competed at the SJWA Championships hosted at Ceres High School in Ceres, California. Over half of the wrestlers managed to place in the top three in their division despite vigorous competition. Two TWC wrestlers took their talents to the mat at the Motherlode Mania hosted at Summerville High School in Tuolumne, California. Both wrestlers placed in the top two for their brackets.

First place wrestlers at the SJWA Championships walked away with a coveted SJWA Champion singlet as a token of their hard work. First place wrestlers included: 8U Diego Goins, 8U Kolby Dennington, 10U Jaiden Palomino, 12U John Quintoa, 12U Dominic Hernandez, 12U Xavier Sta.Elena, 12U Case Borges, 12U Luke Vergez, 14U Victor Ramirez Jr., 14U Cole Borges, and 14U Darrian Marieiro. 8U wrestler Leonidas Agtarap claimed a first place finish at Motherlode.

Silver medalists included: 10U Brock Bogetti, 10U Hunter Dumlao, 10U James Miller, and 14U Vanden Caudillo. 10U wrestler Carson Fife claimed a Silver medal at Motherlode.

Bronze placers included: 8U Jaxson Gama, 10U Keoni Jakobo, 10U Xavier Coronado, 12U Honour Durkee, 14U Wyatt Hammerstrom.

In addition to individual achievements at the SJWA Championships, the Tracy Wrestling Club claimed several team victories. TWC had the most pins over any other club at the tournament. TWC wrestlers pinned 37 opponents. The second closest club was Tri-Valley Elite (Livermore) and Merced Bears with 15 pins each. TWC tied the G-Style Wrestling Club for TechFalls with 4 each. TWC took the lead in overall team points scoring 283 trailed by Tri-Valley Elite (Livermore) with 156.

TWC wrestlers continue to work hard in preparation for the California State Championships on March 8-10, in Fresno, California. We can’t wait to see how these kids do against the best of the best.
